Lead Full Stack Engineer – New York

Description

The ideal candidate should possess hands-on experience leading a team of engineers and contributing code to deliver new features and functionality. Day-to-day you will collaborate with engineers, product managers, designers, marketing, operations, customer experience, and outside partners. This role will also be involved with our client’s Innovation team which aims at building up next generation digital platform to bring completely new experiences to their customers.

Competencies

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate with our clients in the US.
  • 8+ years of software development experience.
  • 2 to 4 years of experience leading a team.
  • Experience leading multiple complex software projects.
  • Deep knowledge of modern design and development patterns.
  • Experience deploying and maintaining applications in AWS (CloudFormation, API Gateway, ECS, RDS, Lambda).
  • Experience with Contentful, Shopify Plus, and Stripe.
  • Experience with international eCommerce and localization.
  • Experience working with relational databases such as Postgres.
  • Experience building and integrating with RESTful APIs.
  • Strong understanding of git and its popular branching models.
  • Strong understanding of testing and CI/CD practices.
  • Experience working with Docker.
  • Experience working with common systems in an Ecommerce/Retail business such as eCommerce platforms, Content Management Systems, Payments platform, Subscription management systems, Fulfillment systems.
  • Experience working with product, sales and other key stakeholders to drive business success.
  • Bachelor’s degree in technology or engineering or related discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Full-stack web application development at our clients in the US primarily in React, Next.js and Node.js.
  • Manage a team of engineers.
  • Write clean, well-architected, self-documenting code.
  • Support team members and mentor other React/Node engineers through code review, knowledge sharing, and leading by example.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with all members of the team.
  • Actively participate in all major technical discussions related to the platform.
  • Create a culture of observability within the team, constantly keeping an eye on the performance and stability of the platform.
